Only produced from 1981 to 1984, the Roland TB-303 was a tremendous commercial flop as a replacement for the bass guitar, however it soon found its place as one of the most-loved synthesizers for what became known as Electronic Dance Music (EDM). An ultra-affordable and faithful homage to the iconic synthesizer that spawned house music, plus an all-new Distortion circuit, the TD-3-SR lets you conjure up virtually any sound with incredible finesse and ease. With its pure analog signal path, 16-step Sequencer and authentic VCO, VCF and VCA filters, the TD-3-SR is sure to become one of your favorite synthesizers.

Tuning corner : de manière générale, tous les sons rythmiques sont fabriqués à l'aide d'un synthé monophonique (SH-9 Roland), selon les techniques des premiers vinyles LBA. Pour les basses et les accords récurrents, c'est le Jupiter-8 qui fera l'affaire. Les variations harmoniques sont confiées aux filtres de la MPC, nourrie d'échantillons du JP-8 (autosample). Les traitements (échos, reverb...) sont enregistrés en audio et en direct, comme chaque piste de cet album en gestation. Bref, de la dentelle venue de l'ancien temps, à l'époque où on en avait (du temps)...

Dj Bouto : " Aborder la MPC en mode "fingers drumming" lors d'un duo suppose de trouver un dj extrêmement précis au niveau du tempo et de l'enchaînement des séquences ; d'autant plus lorsqu'il s'agit de vinyles à l'allure fluctuante ! Il faut aussi s'entraîner et prévoir des séances de répétition... parmi beaucoup de djs que j'ai croisés, seule djane Ki a su faire preuve de la patience et de la rigueur nécessaire ; c'est pourquoi Brand New Bastards n'est pas un "duo", une "collab", un "versus" ou autre "back to back"... mais un véritable GROUPE, au sens rock'n'roll du terme.

Nous préparons un set techno-techno pour notre festival LORÉZIEN (oui) de l'été prochain. Be there ! "

Triceratops [Live at 909 B.A.R.]

Nous sommes revenus aux machines brutes, sans mémoire (chacun note ses réglages) et nous séquençons tout en Midi, retour à l'esprit Atari... PS : si nous n'utilisons pas nos meilleures machines (Tr-909, Tr-808, Juno-6, Jupiter-8, Sh-101, etc.) ni nos meilleures tables de mixage, c'est par choix de légèreté, donc de mobilité... Notre défi est aussi de parvenir à faire sonner du matos un peu "cheapos" !

We came back to the raw machines, without memory (each one writes its settings) and we sequence everything in Midi, back to the Atari mind... PS: if we do not use our best machines (Tr-909, Tr-808, Juno-6, Jupiter-8, Sh-101, etc.) nor our best mixing tables, it is by choice of lightness, therefore mobility... Our challenge is also to get good sound from cheap tools !
